The brief

What the building demands

  1. 01A space redrawn with every collection, without calling the electrician back
  2. 02Light that renders materials and colours faithfully
  3. 03Different audio moods depending on the world being shown
  4. 04Controlled consumption despite generous lighting

The architecture

The response, layer by layer

The same order of dependency as on every project we run: energy first, supervision last. Each layer links to the discipline that handles it.

  1. 01
    ENERGYEnergy

Sub-metering by display zone, with automatic shutdown outside opening hours. Discipline

  2. 02
    ELECTRICALElectrical

Track systems that let spotlights be moved without touching the fixed wiring. Discipline

  3. 03
    NETWORKNetworks

One infrastructure carrying lighting, audio, security and signage, with the networks logically separated. Discipline

  4. 04
    SECURITYSecurity

Volumetric detection at night, cameras on entrances and the stockroom. Discipline

  5. 05
    ACCESSAccess control

Stockroom and offices separated from the public space, with rights by hour for staff and deliveries. Discipline

  6. 06
    FIREFire

Detection suited to open volumes and to the materials on display, with voice evacuation. Discipline

  7. 07
    AUTOMATIONAutomation

Lighting scenes reassignable from a tablet, zoned audio moods, cooling driven by footfall. Discipline

  8. 08
    MONITORINGSupervision

Luminaire operating hours and consumption by zone, so replacements can be anticipated.

Technologies

What we bring to bear

  • DALI-2
  • KNX
  • Zigbee 3.0
  • Multi-zone audio
  • EN 50131

Open, documented standards rather than closed systems: an installation must remain serviceable and extendable by another integrator.

In use

What this architecture produces

  • A collection is reinstalled by moving spotlights, not by rewiring.
  • Each world has its own light and its own soundscape.
  • Lighting switches itself off at closing, with no possibility of forgetting.

This record describes a reference architecture. Measured performance figures are published only for completed sites, with the client's agreement.
